What it's like from day to day

Sometimes I wonder what it's like from day to day with jobs. I mean one of the things about seeing people do jobs is you think, Oh that's so cool, but then you wonder what it is like from day to day.

I Wonder.

I still don't know what i want to be be when I'm older, I'd like to try a couple internships. I'm actually kinda glad I don't know what I want to be. I mean it's pretty likely I will get the job that I want if I have it planned. but I also think that you're going to change jobs a lot. I personally am kind of leaning toward acting whether on the big screen or the stage.

That's the best possible question to ask anyone about their career. Not the big moments, but the day to day experience. What do they spend most of their time doing? Did they know that's what it would be? Does it suit them? Even the most glamorous looking jobs can be tedious or soul killing to the folks doing the work. The key is to do a lot of stuff and find out how you like to spend not just your days, but your hours and minutes. Something quiet and rhythmic, that allows your mind to let go? Something with lots of people around and the drama and comraderie that can come with it? Indoors or out? Pushing your mind or your body or both? Build the house or design it? And don't assume one over the other--you have no idea how you will feel until you do it.
Whenever you meet someone ask them your question and listen. Then ask the next question. Let them tell you, without too much input from you; just listen.
